We review our services regularly and individual timings may change. Our reception team will always be happy to help with any questions or queries regarding the availability of our GP’s and nurses.

Urgent appointments for today

Same day appointments are released at 8am daily Monday to Friday and during these times we are very busy but do have three staff members answering your calls.

If the line is engaged, we are speaking to other patients on the phone but please keep redialling or use the Callback facility which will retain your place in the queue.

Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home Visits

House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.

If you need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30am.

Telephone: 01795 477266

A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

If a Home Visit is necessary you may be visited by a Paramedic Practitioner rather than a GP.

Chaperones

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present for any consultation, examination or procedure where they feel one is required. The chaperone may be a family member or friend. On occasions you may prefer a formal chaperone to be present, i.e. a trained member of staff.

Wherever possible we would ask you to make this request at the time of booking so that arrangements can be made and your appointment is not delayed in any way. Where this is not possible we will endeavour to provide a formal chaperone at the time of request.

However, occasionally it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment. Your healthcare professional may also require a chaperone to be present for certain consultations in accordance with our chaperone policy.

Change or Cancel an Appointment

Please give us as much notice as possible so we can offer your appointment to someone else.

To cancel your appointment:

  1. Use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  2. Cancel using the GP online system
  3. Phone us on 01795 477266
